We called it “Veraz”, spanish for truthful, because we had discovered a true carménère, born in the depths of the dry coastal area of cauquenes among vineyards with great luminosity accompanied by granitic and red soils.
A profound wine, voluptuous, smooth, elegant and highly complex.

Varietal Composition:

100% Carménère

Geographic Area:

Cauquenes, Maule Valley

The grapes were harvested and selected by hand. Then they underwent a cold maceration at 5ºc for five days.
The alcoholic fermentation took place with selected yeasts in oak vats at 24ºC. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in french oak barrels, where it matured for a total of 16 months.

Winemaker's Comments:

This wine is a bright ruby colour. The nose is intense, complex and elegant with notes of tobacco, prunes, tealeaves and a hint of toast from the ageing.
It is velvety, oily and well-balanced in the mouth with a superb mid-palate and just the right amount of tannins, which are very smooth and lead to a long finish.

Food Pairings:

This wine pairs well with aromatic mature cheese, sweet and sour sauces, game and typical Chilean cuisine. Best served at between 16°C and 18°C.

Six to ten years
